For their 2004 International Convention, SEIU took over the beautiful city of San Francisco. The main event was held at the newest bulding of the Moscone Center. Other events included satellite meetings and parties at five hotels, a concert at the Oakland Arena, a gala at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, a political rally on Crissy Field, and a protest march of over 10,000 people across the Golden Gate Bridge. Tess Wald Productions had its hand in all of these events.
We produced and managed technical production of the main event at the Moscone Center, oversaw production of the three largest satellite meetings and their evening parties, oversaw production of the rally on Crissy Field and the march across Golden Gate Bridge. We consulted with SEIU on all events. We designed the lighting for the main event and guided the set design. We introduced SEIU to the widescreen video projection technology which became a dynamic, integral part of their program. We worked with the John Kerry campaign, the Secret Service and SEIU to build Kerry's stirring, dramatic visit to the Convention.
